I once had a BCCB hen that I found with her leg just dangling by a thread. I had to snip off the leg, there was no bleeding, and so I just left it alone and it healed just fine. She adjusted to having just one leg, though she had her sister in with her, and her sister let her lean on her for support.

She is doing very well :)

The leg's swelling and overall appearance has calmed down a LOT since losing the foot. She seems very happy and healthy!
