I'm at chapter 3 now. Not quite sure I agree with everything, but I think the book is from 1990 or something, so I guess it might be slightly outdated. A latin dictionary (google should work as well) is recommended.

I think there is a lot of good information there, that may be helpful to have around if and when it's needed.

Not all of us have an Avian Vet at hand, or may not have the means to avail ourselves of their services even if they are around.

Knowing what to look for in the bellies, droppings, symptoms and what meds will treat what is a bit tricky, not every antibiotic or med will work on everything, using the wrong med can actually make things worse.

We come across a lot of folks that use the wrong meds to treat something they think is wrong when the bird has something entirely different wrong with it.... some symptoms can indicate a few different issues.

Quarantine your birds (no less than 90 days), doing preventatives in quarantine can cut down on many issues later on.
