Thanks again Elana! The little fella was doing extremely well today! Eating and drinking on his own a lot. He only cried for food once that I saw and Freyja ignored him so he started eating on his own. The whole family is adapting well to their new cage. I had to remove the nests because there was some intense fighting going on over them. It all settled down once I took them out.

The Little Guy started getting up on his perches tonight also. I have a brush type toy attached to the one and he learned to climb it onto the perch. I see him making more progress every day which does my heart good! Thank you again so much for your suggestions!

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted but the news is good on my little late developer. The youngsters are about 8 1/2 weeks old now and doing great. I do have a question, when do they get their adult plumage? If it’s around now I may have four females on my hands!
The little guy is starting to fly much better, she’s making it to perches much higher in the cage where she’s able to hang out with her sisters! The whole family is doing well, eating lots of egg food and their regular seed. I’m still stripping the millet from the buds for them I’ve got them spoiled! They absolutely love it when I change their water bowl in the morning. Valdar is the first one there everyday for his bath. Any help on the plumage would be appreciated!

Hi there! What colors are they? If they don't have any cheek patches by now then they must all be females! Have you heard any of them singing at all?

Thanks so much for the information! I kind of figured they were all females. Their beaks are almost completely orange now so I’ve got four girls!

What Color were parents? And what Color are the babies? If they are sex linked then you will be able to tell what the babies are as nestlings :)
