Quarantine question
This is my trial run of going thru the quarantine process. So I'm trying to get the kinks ironed out.
Besides preventative things like treating for things like mites, etc.
What am I watching for?
I presume to see if "something" develops, like a negative change in behavior, but what else beside falling dead?
I'm following the procedure in the LadyGouldianFinch site:
http://www.ladygouldianfinch.com/featur ... antine.mgi
Well to the degree I have the stuff, which I don't have many of what she uses.
- I sprayed her for mites,
- I have her on NV powder now (this is day 3),
I don't have Ronex (or the equivalent yet), but I have Worm Away which will be my next step.
I guess I'll have to order Ronex (or equivalent) and S76.

Thanks Liz
She seemed to have gotten used to the Q cage. She is eating and drinking like my other finches do. And I noticed one good thing about her eating pellets so readily, no seed hulls flying around the bathroom.
But she seems to be lonely and calling for other finches. I recorded her beeps, and when I play her beeps to the community cage, they seem to reply to her beeps. She perks up when I play back the chatter from the community cage.
The Q cage is 17Lx12Dx12H.
Once she completes the quarantine process, I will move her and her new mate to a breeding cage about 2x the size of the Q cage. Then I plan to give both of them some of the medication in the LadyGouldianFinch quarantine procedure for protozoa or worm treatment, since my current finches never went thru a quarantine medication process.

Hi I purchase some birds this week ( gouldian , society , stars , blue faced parrot finch , shaft-tails and green singers ) , and I want to make a full quarantine. I bought on-line some products from US ( worm away , probiotics, amoxitex, iverlux, cocci care , psittavet , scatt , ronivet and pestex ) because here in Romania I do not find them.
Can you tell me if is it necessary to make a full quarantine for all of them ( species ) and how to do this ( using products that I have ) , for example if I administer SCATT it is necessary to wait 3 weeks till I administer WormAway or I administer SCATT and the second day I can administer WormAway ?
I want if it is possible to tell me order to administrate them and how long step by step and from what species.
Thank you

Try this link for a quarantine process

Although based on the types of birds, you might not want to put them all in the same cage. I will let some of the more experienced comment about the mixing. This link might help

I don't use SCATT, so I can't remember if you have to do a follow-up treatment with that. If you don't have to follow up in a couple of weeks with the SCATT, I would wait a week and then do the Wormaway. I wouldn't want to hit them with too many things at once, so if you spread them out a bit, will make it easier on the birds.
