Scaly Leg and Beak Wiping

Post by Malzmom » Sun May 06, 2007 11:19 am

Hi There,
I am a newbie here, glad to find all of you. I have a question about my Zebra finch, seems there are some scales on his legs and not on the other finch. He seems to be wiping his beak on the perches as well. I suspect mites and parasite on the legs. What could I use to treat them both and what about the other finch?
Also on his breast it looked like he has red hairs here and there, I sprayed Scalex and now they seem to be gone. Is there anything I can do now? Is there something I can put in the water to treat them as well as clean the cage?

Thanks to all of you!

If you can get find a product called SCATT, which contains Moxydectin, it will clear up the mites on the bird asap. You will need to throughly clean the cage and accessories or treat with another product to kill the mites or your birds will be reinfected.
