Not to worry Candace...... no harm done and very informative information. Thank you for your recommendations. :D

We all have those senior moments. Even those who aren't "seniors".

Just a little follow up on Sunshine. He is back in the aviary with both babies and doing great!

In the meantime...... when I removed him there were four eggs that he and his mate Sugar were beginning to incubate. Spice and Lucy (another pair of my goudians) were also sitting on four eggs that were not fertile so I took them and replaced them with Sunshine's eggs. Yesterday one hatched..... two more today. One was tossed still half in the shell for some reason :(
So Sunshine's babies are doing great and I am sure that Spice will take good care of them. :)

Such a happy ending, or beginning whichever way you look at it. :D

So happy to hear Sunshine and his babies are doing better and back in the aviary, what a relief for you!

Congrat's on the new additions, that's a nice surprise!

Thank you Renee and Janine! Hopefully Spice will be a good dad and take care of them along with Lucy.

Ah just gotta love baby pics! Congratulations!

BTW - I've been meaning to ask for the past week or so: how is your Strawberry hen doing these days?

Good news about Sunshine and his babies! You have had a lot of Gouldian babies this year, haven't you?

Liz,

The strawberry hen is doing fine. She hasn't laid any eggs for a while now and seems to be resting. They spend their days preeening and enjoying the sun. :D This is fine with me.

BTW.... I love your new avatar. Yesterday when I came home and found something that looked like that on the aviary floor I was devastated. Then I found another in the nest. Just like that.....
I peeled the shell away myself and out popped a baby! I was so excited to see it still alive. I don't know what happened with the other that Spice tossed it though.... :? That was a first for me.
