Birds dying one by one. Please help
I had a family of 7 societies. Mom, dad and 5 little ones. First mom began to lose her balance and not be able to rest on her perch. She then fell to the bottom of the cage where she remained. We isloated her and for about half a day she remained on the bottom with her wings spread, unable to fly.Energy depleted and sick she died. Now one by one they are passing the same way, and I dont know why. Someone please help!

It sounds as if it is something they may have been exposed to that might be effecting the nervous system/balance/equilibrium. Has there been any changes in their environment lately?

I am so sorry for your loss, it is terrible to lose them all like that. Usually, if a lot of birds start dying, it is a case of something in their environment. So many common household products are poisonous for our birds. Teflon-coated pans, if allowed to overheat, can release fumes that kill. Aerosols, air fresheners, some cleansers, scented candles, pesticides, the list is long. Can you think of anything you have added to the room they are in? Something very insignificant to us can be deadly for them.
I just looked at the Finch Information Center, linked at left. Under General Topics, is an article Warnings: Dangers to Avoid. It gives a pretty complete list of the toxins you may have in your home, and things to avoid.
