Donald passed away

Post by mrshorn » Tue Nov 10, 2009 8:25 pm

We took Donald to get treated again on Friday for ASM, and he seemed like he was feeling better over the weekend. We found him on the floor of the hospital cage dead after looking in on him five minutes prior. We still do not know what was wrong with him, but he is not suffering any more. I was really sad at first, but I am okay now. I couldn't watch him be ill for much longer anyway. I already had it in my mind that he needed to just get well, or pass away. I wish it was the getting well, but at least he is not miserable anymore. He gave us ten beautiful babies, and the one who looks just like Donald is a boy. I candled the eggs in the nest I was hoping were fertile from before Donald was removed, but to my disappointment none are fertile. Oh well. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Lisa, I was dreading this news. I am sorry but glad he is no longer suffering also.
I recently had another clutch of 3 babies, my second clutch. I had 1 crested and 2 normals in this bunch. First clutch I got 3 crested.
I named my latest crested ... Donald Trump ...... after your Donald. I hope to give him as much love as you gave your Donald :D May he rest in Peace.
My Donald is in the center, his Mom is on his right and the one on the left is one from last clutch. And a gouldian incognito.

Notice the perfect symetrical chest feathers, one dark swoop up and two dark swoops down, on either side.

Candace- I am so sorry I haven't responded until now. The hubs and I went camping and I had no computer. Naming one of your little guys after Donald warms my heart more than I can tell you! I'm kinda choked up, I'm not going to lie. There is no doubt you are going to love your Donald as much as I did mine! This just made my day! Thank you very much!!!

Your Donald does have a perfect crest doesn't he!
