I am not familiar with Marvel Aid - how long have you been giving it to her, just today?

With any antibiotic once you start, it is not advisable to stop unless it is life or death because it presents issues with problematic resistant bacteria in the future .. this is pretty much why most people do not use Amtyl anymore. :\

It is not nearly as effective as other options available..

I think isolating her and offering a hospital cage with warmth, her favorite foods, clean water, etc., would have been the best first choice - and then go from there.
Since you've started the antibiotic, unless she starts to crash in the next few hours it is best to continue it for the full course of treatment.

Yeast is a gradual disease - a "long term" killer, meaning they won't keel over overnight.. but it is also usually secondary; if a healthy adult bird succumbs to yeast there is usually an underlying problem that should be analyzed (bacterial, protozoal, parasitic, etc)

I would continue with the abx and then follow up with a probiotic :)
If she gets any worse, let us know..

No Robin, not suggesting adding a nest to isolation cage. Just trying to gague if she was actually egg bound. I don't find many hens getting eggbound, unless they were actually breeding.

Best to do as the others suggest.

Hello all - am not 100% sure but i think i can safely say that i think my cordon sadie is going to be ok. she is not puffed up tonight at all, and hasn't been for several hours. her droppings look normal except for 'result' of the anti bacterial in her water, which is bright red. she has been active throughout the whole experience but was sleeping more than normal those first few days - now today she is just chirping and flying around in that little isolation cage she is stuck in. i am going to keep her in there until tomorrow evening, and by then i hope i can safely take her off the medication (because, although they claim is 'safe' for all birds, i DID NOT want healthy birds forced to ingest a sulfa drug) and let her return to her friends. it's been 4 days, tomorrow will be 5, so i hope it's safe.
THANK YOU to all of you that offered suggestions, it is so nice to know that people care, and the support and suggestions were much appreciated!
for those that haven't followed - she was puffed up and had watery droppings and i islolated her, gave her a heat lamp and an over the counter pet store remedy called 'marvel aid', which is sulfadimethoxine/15 mg per fluid ounce - basically a sulfa drug that is recommended by pet stores but scary if you are concerned about possible kidney or yeast problems. it is recommended at full strength as replacement for drinking water but i diluted it about 50/50 then up to about 75% solution. we got lucky!
