@NM
That is why I switched to water tubes for their drinking water.
But they will drink out of their bath, which they also poop into. And that is why I put ACV into the bath water.

That corn cob litter can be dangerous too. It will grow mold. I would look for something different if it were me. I did have it once until I saw a spot on it. I flipped out and never ever used it again. Changing it weekly isn't enough when they bathe alot.

Just my own opinion, but it didn't work for me.

I agree - don't use the corn cob, especially if there's no grate in the cage and the birds can actually get at the bedding. If you like the idea of bedding rather than just using paper, try Carefresh bedding. It's used mostly for gerbels, rabbits, etc. but I also have used it for cat litter. It works a treat! And nothing harmful in it. It absorbs MUCH better than that corncob bedding.

I do have a grate over it. If I don't want to use bedding....you recommend just paper???

Hi,

We line the bottoms of all our birds' cages, from finches to an Umbrella Cockatoo, with the non-glossy newspaper.

Shoot, sorry I did not answer your question sooner. The drops are either Sun Drops, or I believe Avitron Drops. They are yellow and smell like citrus. There is not much you can do about drinking the water from the bath. Just keep it clean. Good luck, and sorry I did not get back to you right away.

Sure - it's cheap (usually free) since the birds can't get at it you can just use newspaper. If you don't like the look of the printed paper, I use brown kraft paper for the bottom of my cage.

I use frizbees I bought at Walmart for $1 each, filled with lukewarm water and ACV. They get this each morning. It usually takes about a half-hour for all of them to finish splashing/playing (during that time I get their eggfood ready). After that, I remove the 'bathtubs' and clean the cages and put in fresh newspaper. Then they get eggfood, fresh greens and a dish of protein. I have my morning coffee and take a break to enjoy watching them. The only thing I feel they enjoy more than their bath, is sunshine. BTW, I have 9 cages at present, and it takes me about 2 hours to complete this routine. :shock: An aviary is in the making.... just waiting for everyone to fledge. Hope this helps. :)

I know that feeling lol, althou all my "work" gets done when kids are in bed so admittedly once they are all cleaned and fed and watered i do sit there for an obscene amount of time :) :)
