They bathe several times a day in fact. I have never had any problems with the incubating hens leaving eggs to bath..... if they do, the cock covers for her.

I finally got a 3-tiered fountain for my aviary as well! :) It's completely lightweight, I got it at Drs. Foster&Smith. I put it in yesterday afternoon and they pretty much ignored it. :-( But I guess in time they will figure it out... It was after their bathtime too, they usually take a bath at lunch these days. I can't wait to see if there's any action today when I go home from work for lunch... :-)
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.

I am contemplating getting one of these. How do you keep it clean from debris? How often do you change the water? How deep is it?
It is very pretty.. and would be very functional. My birds LOVEEE to bathe, and the fountain in there fulltime would be great. Right now, they splash too much for bathing facilites 24/7.

I'm curious about your schedule too, Donna!

I hope I don't have to clean it more than once a week. I put Sparkle it the water to keep it fresh.

It's in the middle of the room with no perches overhead or seed nearby, so I hope it will stay fairly clean.

I put some seashells on the bottom of the lowest tier because it seemed pretty deep and the fountain is somewhat slippery. I thought just in case some stupid bird falls in and gets wet he can climb out that way... ;-)

As soon as I have some "action" going in the fountain I hope to shoot some pictures and will post them... :-)
