powdered kelp

Hi!

I have a gouldian hen who has been missing feathers for some time now, maybe two or three months. I have given her powdered kelp in a separate container, but I rarely see her eat from it, and she doesn´t seem to improve, I even see she is getting worse. A moment ago I put a little bit of powdered kelp over her seed food, but I am nervous she or her companion (a healthy male) can get poisoned or something.
Also, I have never noticed my gouldians moulting, even when two of them have been with me for about two years, and others for about eight months. Can this hen be moulting, even when her companions aren´t?

Way far from being an expert, but yes they can molt while the rest are not. One of my hens just finished molting, while the only others in aviary molting are the babies.

Eating powdered kelp won't hurt your other birds.Personally I prefer a liquid kelp...easier to administer through the drinking water.I don't know if it's available in your neck of the woods though.
When it comes to the moult Gouldians can be very varied depending on how they're kept....temperature etc.
