Has anyone used Avian Insect Liquidator in nests (with mites) with chicks, and if so, did it all turn out ok?
Thanks,
Heather

Re: Mites & baby birds
I have never used this particular brand but I understand that it is relatively safe.
I think the biggest thing is to be careful about spraying it into their eyes. I wouldn't use it on little tiny babies, but maybe babies about 15+ days old and just try to cover their heads before hand.

I have used it in the nests and on and around the babies of all ages. I wouldn't drench them of course but just spray them from above while in the nest.
If you are worried about mites? Then you will have to take the nest apart or replace to get the mites that live under the nesting material that the spray will never penetrate to when misting them.
Unfortunately I speak from experience - it is a road I hope no one ever has to travel
