cindy Ah, alright. I thought since you asked for an update on day 4 that it took 4 days
I don't have an avian vet around here :/ It's so weird, they seem so energetic and happy. There isn't any other indication of an illness other than the weird poop. This treatment is for 7 days right? If there is no change after 7 days, would I proceed with probiotic and another treatment or would that be too hard on them?

go back and compare your birds droppings to earlier pictures... there are some slight improvements.

cindy That's a relief. If after the 7 days they aren't 100% better, what do i do? Give probiotics and then try again? Or just let them get better on their own? Thank you so so much for helping me with this. I know I wouldn't have been able to have done all of this without you guys.

Let's cross that bridge when we get to it... when they are done with the meds I would use the probiotics in the egg food just as you are doing with the medistatin.

Day 5 of Treatment:
Not as many poops today (not all in the same spot like the last photos).. I know he's eating since they are seed shells everywhere but I'm not really sure what's going on. They are less yellow too and a tan/brown color. He's singing right now

His poops aren't as yellow, but they are large, less frequent, watery, and covered with that white urates. He use to have little poops everywhere, and now its just a medium-sized one here and there. I feel like his metabolism has slowed down or something. He's still eating as usual. He's on probiotics right now. Should I take him off? Treat with something else?

post a picture of the droppings... I will forward them to glamgouldians.com or you can email her as well...since you purchased the meds from her she can guide you in what may be needed.finchlover24 wrote: cindy

Is he less active, sitting more? Does he have a nest and is sitting in there? How long has he been on probiotics?

Re: Mr. Meepin - Having Weird Poop. Is he sick?
cindy Eh, he's alright. He has his nest and sits in it at times, plays with the rope at other times. He's ringing his bell right now. No physical signs of being ill other than the less frequent poops. He's been on probiotics since he got sick.. then a week off.. then a week back on. He's on it right now.. I was afraid of taking him off of it in case thats whats keeping him healthy. I'll email her and see how it goes.
He's maybe pooped only 8 times since last night.. he's eating and they are big poops but not as frequent as id like them to be.
Here are pictures in case you wanted to take a look:

Are the bigger droppings after he has been sitting in the nest for long periods, first thing in the morning?

include the pictures in your email and also mention he sits in a nest for long periods.

Re: Mr. Meepin - Having Weird Poop. Is he sick?
cindy The ones in the morning are usually small/normal sized, sometimes medium, just the weird coloring to them. I remember the bigger ones being throughout the day. Just emailed glamgouldians and attached the photos.
He only sits in the nest to sleep, or on the side of the nest. He also goes in his nest to tear the paper towel and make a mess
I don't see him sitting in there because he's sick.. although he does sit in the corner outside of the nest (theres a ledge to sit on).
