hi
that sounds very strange to me,because you can get birds that go into a french molt as they call it,but usually that is a molt that is out of season but for yours to be constantly losing its tail feathers is baffling to me

ken

He seems to be healthy...right now he has half of the tail, it looks like it's broken or plucked. A few feathers is regrowing. :?: :?: :?:

Aga
I would separate that bird, feed it LOTS of egg food to regrow the feathers, then see if the tail feathers stay on it. If it grows back and stays, then it is being plucked.

I have birds (zebras) that will pluck their "buddies" or will pick on one bird. I have rarely caught the plucker red-handed, but the evidence of plucking is clear to see. Example, if the back of one bird is plucked totally bare, then there was a LOT of plucking going on by the plucker.
