She probably lifted the pictures off the internet and has no clue what They are, but is trying to backpeddle a little now and avoid saying so.

Yeah, they were taken in a nice outdoor aviary, and were very high quality birds. Not like an aviary you'd see around here, too cold! She said they were gouldians, I said those birds are not gouldians. Is it possible to delete photos once you've already sent them? They are no longer in my inbox.

She says she doesn't know for sure, and te reason she's been avoiding it is because they belonged to her brother and he died a few weeks ago, so she needs to rehome them. How sad, but she did seem strange. I think I will buy the pair she sent pictures of, even though they do not look to be birds she took pictures of, if she is close enough. She doesn't know what they are and neither do I but they are very nicely colores according to the pictures.

Be cautious, as she is not likely to have much information, such as age etc, since they were not her birds.

Dante, in a case like this she does not know the history of the birds, what kind they are....I would be leary about introducing this kind of stock into my flock. The problem with introducing birds from various different breeders/owners in such a small window of time is you can be opening your flock up to to many underlying problems. All it takes is one birds that is suspect to bring a flock down.

Move on and find another breeder that can give you better info on the birds. If you do take these birds quarantine them for a month and pretreat with preventitives before letting them near your flock. always quarantine new birds from different sources separately.

They will be quarintined in a whole spereate part of the house if I get them. I would not risk infecting my birds with something. THanks guys!

Also, I may not get them at all. But they are so colorful, I really want to find out what they are. If she gives me a good price, I may take them. Her brother must had kept records if he has 5 pairs of gouldians other species. I'll ask her to look through to see if he has records.

I think they may be goldbreasted waxbills, not sure though.
