Ronivet mixing questions

I e-mailed Larraine at ladygouldian.com about this as well. She was unaware of the discrepancy and checked the ones she has in stock. Sure enough, older ones say 1 tsp to 1 gallon and newer ones say 1 tsp to 2 gallons. She is contacting Vetafarm to ask if the medication itself has been changed or just the dosage recommendation and will be getting back to me. I will update when I hear from her.

I would have preferred to go with Ronex. Most of the other meds I have on hand are Morning Bird and I do like the idea of going with one brand, because I think it's easier to determine potential product interactions. But I was ordering from ladygouldian.com and she doesn't stock Ronex, only Ronivet. She gives a discount when you purchase multiple medications together. And she was having a site-wide halloween sale! I figure I probably saved a bit with those discounts and not paying shipping to two different sites...

Nelissa Ladygouldian.com website shows she carries Ronex Extra strength 12%, was she out of stock? You can get the Ronex 6% and double the powder.

Somehow I can't find Ronex at all through Laraine. Lots of other MB stuff but I'm not seeing Ronex.

Oh that's why- I was on Laraine's (www.ladygouldian.com), not Joanne's (www.ladygouldianfinch.com). I knew Joanne had it, but wanted to get everything all at once and Laraine's prices are a little better on some stuff. Plus I have ordered from her several times, and know I can count on it to get here super fast. If I order on a Monday, it's here by Wednesday, or Thursday at the very latest!

I got a response from Laraine today:
Hello Nelissa,

I have received a reply from my Vetafarm rep in Australia. She said that the original labels that said 1 teaspoon for 1 gallon of water was a mis-print and that it should have said 1 teaspoon for 2 gallons of water. Our US distributor never mentioned to me that there was a mis-print on the 12% label, so I apologize for giving out the incorrect information on my website.

The Vetafarm rep told me that there is a broad range of safety with the Ronivet product, so dosing at the higher rate of 1 teaspoon for 1 gallon of water would not have hurt the finches, but they have now reprinted the labels so the correct dosage is now listed on the label.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention.

Good to know...it is like Ronex and it is safe to double the dose also...glad you found out. It was strange bith out bottles containing the same meds was marked so differently.

I am giving my flock their routine treatment of Ronex 12% after the fledges are two weeks post fledging. Should I be giving them the 1/4 tsp for 2 quarts or the higher dose? I am on day three of the 7 days of treatment. I was not aware we could double the 12% Ronex?.
