I just thought she might like to know where to buy it in the future.
I also think Medistain is more economical than nystatin.
And I am sure treating them for yeast won't hurt them ... I add it to my handfeeding formula from the start... this way I don't have to worry about yeast :D

I sure do love how helpful everyone is on this board. This village is really raising lots of birds and not just their own. I am glad to be a part of such a wonderful knowledgeable group. I feel safe knowing if anything happens to my birds I have a wealth of information and wisdom on this forum. Thank you everyone for being so helpful.

Awww... a big bird family :D Sometimes the experiences us different keepers have all help to solve problems...at least we will leave you feeling not alone

Though I may confuse you :? :?:
To clear any confusion...the drugs are the same...medistatin is the powdered form and easily purchased... no vet required. But if the bird does have yeast and it is in the lungs also then neither of these medicines will cure it.... so if breathing problems develope be informed and don't rule out yeast just because you cured the intestinal yeast. Hope that clears up any confusion.

  Rancel...... I knew you were a he....I had a good friend called Rance...he was like a brother to me. I was just typing away,
do forgive the typo.
I do think it is just precious that you, the ( BIG STRONG MAN, NOT THE SHE) is wiping poo from the little finches bottoms and worrying like a Mother hen  okay, I'm done with the funnies

I would add apple cider vinergar to the formula-3ml/Lt and treat for coccidiosis-baycox or similar-doesnt look like the formula to me-wet vent and sticky poo means something else is going on.

Yep...looks to have been their sloppy bathroom habits. Usually if it was cocci or yeast or some other illness the chicks would show it by acting sickly, sleepy, puffy, lacking strong begging, lousy appetite, etc.
Much better, I know you must be relieved :D

Awww.....they are adorable! They also look wonderful...
The meds were sent out on Thursday or Friday (can't remember) so it should be there today. If you don't need to use it just pop it in the frig and save for another time. (hopefully you won't need it)

I can only tell you what I would do.... and I would go ahead and finish out the handfeeding by treating them. It can't hurt and better safe than sorry. Just my opinion....
