Hope he feels better soon. The off balance is concerning. Can you give him some grated boiled egg, it will help him build up his strength.

The desk lamp is good but as Gray noted leave it on 24/7.

If you go to Home Depot or Lowes, go to the electrical section and pick up an aluminum shield, they come with a clamp. You can either attache the lamp to the side or set it on top.

I would also take note of how many watts the clamp light is recommended for. I bought one only capable of 55w, but the bulb wasn't warm enough, so I've had to buy a 75w bulb and a new lamp.

Hope he starts to make some improvements. I really hope that it is not twirling.

I wish I would have read this post before I headed out this morning. I literally was camped out at the pet store waiting for them to open the doors at 9am, lol.

I bought a Fluker's Clamp Lamp with dimmer and a ceramic infrared heat emitter bulb. Ran about $45 altogether. Oh and I bought a 100 watt bulb.

He seems to be doing a little better this morning. Seems less off balance but still is kinda just sitting around. I made him a little smorgasbord of seed & egg and he is eating. He's perching on the sides of the food & water dish again and seems to be maintaining his balance well. He also seems more alert today and seems to be enjoying his new lamp.

He should surely appreciate the heater's warmth! Best wishes.

Is he bonded to his mate? When I had an attacked zebra she appreciated cuddling with her mate under the heatlamp

So sorry you lost him. It is always difficult, but not knowing what went wrong makes it harder.
