Re: Sick society juvenile - emergency 6/1/12
Sorry to hear Lisa that more went down a spiralling path and only to pass. It would seem like there maybe a bad set of genes between these two, in most cases young don't hatch. If there is a genetic issue I would believe that it may have come from the father as most people know that breeding creasted to creasted leads to alot of issues with young that do live. Due to lack of knowledge of some breeders they will still attempt to try this to get alot more creasted young so he may have been produced from a union of this type and been a lucky surviver. I would consider trying to get another pair and split this pair and see what the results maybe. As for ignoring young this maybe due to a lack of experience as they are first time breeders.

So very sorry to hear of your losses but also would like to thank you for posting this as it reminds newbies like me that things can still go wrong after the chicks fledge. I always thought that once they fledge then everything would be ok. Now I know not and to keep vigilant.
So thanks for bringing this to our attention albeit very sad as I would hate to lose any of my very first chicks.
