This is awful and as others have said it doesn't look like twirling to me.
Twirling usually isn't sudden onset like this but starts off small and gradually worsens - at least that's how it happened with my male, and thankfully his is manageable and he's been improving though I don't think he'll ever fully recover.

To me it really looks like others have mentioned that perhaps in a night fright she crashed into something and may have severely damaged her neck.

I couldn't even watch the whole second video because it made me feel so awful... I'm so sorry :(

It doesn't look like the few cases I've seen of twirling, either. More like neurological damage. I have euthanized birds using helium before, as mentioned in the link Charlie gave. So sorry you are having to go through this.

That is DEFINITELY neurological. i would not say twirling though. Head tilting is usually what happens after a seizure.
i had a friend's bird who did this and it was from seizing for so long.

I know this is not a bird but i volunteer at a ferret shelter, one of the ferrets had a MASSIVE seizure and her head was stuck sideways. she was running in circles against the floor :(

EDIT** now that i think of it, one time i was shadowing at a vets office and these guys brought in three dead peachfaced lovebirds, said that they had about 40 of them and all but 1 died in 20 minutes.
we took the one in and immediately put it in a heated containment and gave it a steriod.
It seized three times and each time it was like this but continuously worse each time. ROLLING on the floor and flapping his wings. and then died.
We think the people may have had something to do with teflon pans?(but they were VERY suspicious, we were thinking more along the lines of meth labs...)

This is what she looked like this morning....Definitely an improvement!....She seems to be eating and drinking well!....I hope she continues to improve....I was not able to make a decision last night, but it seems like I made the right one to not do anything except keep her comfortable...

She looks like she is trying to eat, but not really able to direct her head to eat properly. She is swiping one side to the other but I don't see her getting anything in her beak. I've wondered if vets give birds meds for seizures like they do for dogs/cats. Not sure what's going on, but the less activity, probably the better. Keep us posted.

If you take her to a vet, i don't remember what it is called...but there is a steroid they inject into the chest muscle for small birds that are/were seizing..

glad she's improving!

This could have been from a ruptured ear drum.. an inner ear infection can cause this or a blow to the ear and the equillibrium can make a bird loose all control of balance. This loss of control can cause the bird fright and panic and will flit around very much like the early video. As the bird adjudst or the ear seals/heals the condition can correct itself.
Hope it is something that she can recover form. [-o<

I have watched her over the last few days and realized that she seemed blind and had no reflexes to close her eyes when I got close with my finger.....I had to have my husband put her out of her misery.....This was such a hard decision but it had to be made.....I couldn't let her suffer..... :(

I'm so sorry, Debbie, but I don't think you had much choice. Sometimes they can recover from illness or injuries, but when it doesn't look like they are getting better, it is our responsibility to ease their suffering. You did the right thing IMO.
