There is something that she does, definitely.dfcauley wrote: If the birds are and have been healthy at your house then I would certainly not let her get anymore of my birds. thanks for the help cindy. if i do end up buying her back i will quarantine her for sure.cindy wrote: I would quarantine her and not put her with the rest of your birds so you can observe her. The cae was definately to small, out in the open with no place to hide and the cups and perches were not well positioned. To me if the hen or the birds ot startled they did not have much room to go and would run into things. If she gets a bigger cage it may stop what is happening.
thanks bob for your concern. its been hard to know what to do really. i spoke with her this morning and she has decided to keep the hen. the new cage is going to be a lot larger and she will keep the hen as a solitary bird. i have asked her to put the new cage in a corner, or against a wall so that the bird will not be startled (if this is what was happening). thanks again for the help everyone.Sorry about what's going on Amy, but I really don't know much about Zebras or their behavior. If it's only the newly introduced birds that are dying, I would probably rule out anything to due with cage placement or something within the environment of her house. Is it any way possible that the original "hen" you sold her is not a hen? Or are hens the more aggressive sex when it comes to Zebras? Bob
