Maybe call a vet and get their opinion? you don't have to take unnecessarily if you can't or don't want to. the laying motionless worries me

So sorry that you and your Zeb are going through this...its awful.
I had a female gouldian that did backbends when she was stressed (stargazing). Sometimes her cage mates would copy her. I always thought there was something neurologically wrong with her...the "flip-outs" may be seizures. Especially if your guy suffered a brain trauma of some sort.

I agree, sounds like seizures. Arrange things however they need to be to minimize him re-injuring himself. If the cage has a grate for the floor, perhaps keep it covered with paper towels or something else solid and soft so he doesn't hurt himself on the bars. Keep the perches low so if/when he falls, it's not far at all. Last thing he needs is further head injury, or any other part of him.

Jake isn't getting better. He's on the floor, just laying still. I'm scared for him. :/

Gave Jake a bath. (Spray bottle) and he responded to it with very week chirps, he also got back on his perch. I wish he would find his water already...I don't think he's been drinking.

Grab him and dip the TIP of his beak into the water in his cage.

She may miss her mate but...too bad, she can't have him back.

Oh jeez am I late on this. Jake is doing great! He's almost fully recovered. His neck is still strange at times, but he has his balance back. He can jump from perch to perch with no problems whatsoever. I think he is hesitant to fly though, he never was a great flier even when he was normal. But yeah, he's basically normal singing Jakey again. I normally put Jake and Marcy's cages next to eachother now, it prevents them from being lonely.Nanajennie wrote: What is the status of Jake? is he still alive?
I let Marcy out of her cage last night, and she flew RIGHT to Jake's cage and started chirping with him. I don't think Jake trusts her anymore, but he enjoys the company. I don't let them into the same cage, but I let them interact as much as possible. They both seem pretty happy.
