Being from Georgia I always used uncooked grits... they are totally harmless if the birds get them... but in ants... any kind big or small... they take them back to the nest and everyone eats them and they swell up and kill the ants from the inside ;)

works on fire ant nests too :p

Where have you been my friend? How is the new house? I was afraid the girlfriend made you leave the forum LOL! I have missed you. Glad to hear from you again! I have new birds and eggs!! we must catch up soon :D

PS I just stepped on one of the baits I put out, (my broom caught one and I didn't know) and I washed my food off immediately, but I freaked for no reason LOL Ironic you just posted that...

You're just a young whippersnapper! The fact that I use a word like whippersnapper tells you I am ancient.

My favorite go-to for pest control is Avian Insect Liquidator. It is a permethrin-based insecticide, but it is even safe to use around baby birds and sprayed right into nests.

Doing a quick search the closest one to you Jennie is Bird Supply of New Hampshire https://www.birdsupplynh.com/catalog/in ... 6c1f70a7f8 shipping shouldn't be to high. The cheapest is from All Bird Products http://www.allbirdproducts.com/newprodu ... dator.html though with added shipping costs not sure if it would be a better deal for you.
