Dante,
I am so sorry to hear you lost your new zebras.

I hope you can get the situation under control and redevelop your breeding pairs.

Thanks Deborah... Thinking about pairing up the offspring from the remaining pairs & use the empty cages for gouldians

Sorry to hear about your losses, Dante. It doesn't take much with little birds - could have been something stupid. They could have caught a wiff of something that killed them. A few years back I had a canary die when my daughter (13 at the time) painted her nails a few feet away from one of the cages. She knows better now not to do that. Did he spray any pesticides, use any aerosole cleaners, air fresheners? Cologne? Bob

Zebras should be good with heat. Unless they were left under direct sunshine with no shade.
I am sorry for the little ones death!

That's terrible news
I agree there is probably an unknown factor in this for 4 birds to suddenly drop dead at once. So sorry to hear this

Sorry for your loss Dante. I got some society finches years ago and after about 3-4 days a few died and several others looked really bad. I use water tubes and realized that the new birds did not figure out where the water was. I put an open dish of water in the cage and dipped their beaks in it and they drank like crazy.
When ever I ship birds now I tell people to provide an open dish of water-seed and spray millet. Also ask them to put a heat lamp next to a perch for a few days in case anyone is stressed out that they can get some heat.
Another friend of mine shipped some birds once to someone and they started to look really bad and some died. The buyer feed his birds pellets and no seed and these birds had never been exposed to pellets so they starved to death.
