I also need help with my other finch like like have problem breathing heavily and fast with bobbing tail , open mouth and closed frequently but no clicking sound , it last got like couple weeks now and I've tried what I could but now helpless.. I can't go to vet near my home
I posted the topic to forum areas, I'll just post pics here I saved from last night. I know you have more experienced related to birdies than me, please do the best you can I really appreciated.
I handled her carefully with gloves to protect any dirt get on her. Now she sleeping with peak to the back of her wings . Eating no problem, I provided heated lamp and nutrition with calcium etc still not help her much
please let me know anything you can find out and what should I do to help her? I noticed her feet was changing color to purple like, is it bad? I am do worried. Thanks so much in advance !

Re: My zebra finch wounded or swollen toe, help!
Hi everyone Merry Xmas! I just post the pic now from the wounded and missing piece of toe finch, he is doing well and healthy. Everything just normal. I took the pic in the bathroom with napkins on the counter so that you can see it easily than in the cage.

PS : but the baby girl from my last post above died this morning and it's on Xmas day.
I wish can help her but I am not a vet and can only did my best but nothing I did save her life. I feel so bad
especially she have been suffered so long but everything I tried still can't save her. RIP poor baby bird.

So sorry you lost her, but often there is nothing we can do. Sometimes even with a vet present, we lose these little birds. They hide illness so well that by the time we notice, they may be very sick already and too far gone for us to help them.

Thank you Sally for your kindness words, make me feel some easier and better now. I really feel bad, like you said they really good at hiding their symptoms, but when I saw her puffed up a month ago I should have do something maybe I can save her, now I feel like I took her life and not helping much earlier
I have a lot of finches healthy and never have any birds die like this with fast breathing and tail bobbing like. So sorry that you lost your bird on Christmas too from last post in different forum. I will take care of my other finches and pay more attention on any visible symptoms or behaviors. I missed her still...
