I am not familiar with how the health food store products are used just the one from AviTech. I can ask if you show start it now or see if they show symptoms. I believe it is ok to use with young but will double check that as well.

Okay, slow motion this this event.

1. I stuff millet in the cages,

2. clean out societies poopy bath water (cause they bathe 5,899,999,999 times a day)

3. go to shut millet bin and finally spot the mold

4. GASP audibly out loud!!

5. Look behind me to see all my kids EATING the MOLD!!

6. Yell "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

7. Leap over the coffee table to both cages...rip open the doors and SNATCH it out of their little mouths!!!

Oh boy, they were not happy with me at all.

start probiotics... I know of people that use it but since your babies are very young double check with avitech before using the bark... I posted a prior remark and withdrew it after I saw the age of your babies.

Okay I will put the probiotics in the water now for the gouldian mom & dad.

I will start the bark extract on the society boys, (cause we know they arent having any babies ;) ) and the probiotics too.

If mom or dad gouldian come up sick in the morning, I will have to treat the whole family. Wish me luck!

you can add powdered probiotics in their soft food and eggfood also...that will be fed to the young.

No worries Elana, we got a good game plan. I always feel better when I'm two steps ahead of the unknown.

And Im glad I can lay to rest the mystery behind Bebop's demise. That has bothered me terribly.

Moldy millet with tin is in the trash. From now on, I only take enough millet out of the freezer that they can eat in 3 days. That should put an end to that problem once and for all.

Okay, Ill do that. Thankfully when Bebop got sick I had ordered some probiotics (too late to save her, but just in time for this).

Very grateful for all your hard work!

Babs & cindy

Would organic unpasteurized apple cider vinegar be helpful in this situation?
