Max, is looking better today.

He is eating and drinking, and actually tried to bite me, when I checked him out earlier.

His leg is warm, and the colour has gone from black to a dark dark red (bruised?)

He is mobile and expressing his displeasure verbally (swearing at me).

He is a tough little fella.

He's talking to the other Zebbies now and again. His little hospital cage, is above their flight, so I think he's jeering at them all.... "Who is the top man now, eh?"

He's not overdoing it though. Resting and sunning himself most of the time. Nibbling on some seeds and spray millet, having a drink now and again, and fairly alert.

I Imagine he is sore, but at least he doesn't look like roadkill today.

Ouch! Makes my foot sore just looking at it. Hopefully you got it in time if colour is returning. That foot looks mighty black though.

Sam007 Arama

Thanks Trisha and Sam.

Time will tell.
The foot looks fairly mangled, the leg however hopefully will heal (fingers crossed).

Wow, he looks pretty good! Is he putting weight on that leg? He may lose it, it sure looks black, but he can get around with one leg. I had a little BCCB hen that broke her leg to the point that it was almost amputated, so I took it off, and she learned to adapt, could even perch.

@Sally
How did you take your birds legs off? May I ask?

It was quite easy actually, because it was just hanging by a bit of skin. I just took cuticle scissors and cut that little bit of skin and off the leg came, no bleeding even. Whatever she did to get hung up, the leg was almost amputated.
