Ok I should have explained this better. All summer Addy has been picking (likely because of boredom, she has a bell, swing and mirror, but they are hubby' s toys and not things she likes). Macho will give a few pecks her way when she does this, and it goes around again. But then, we moved them in front of the window about 5 days before going to Peru. During those 5 days, i noticed much more bickering, but attributed it to the fact that they had been moved from some out of the way corner to the main traffic area of the house, and also to the fact that a lot of stress was going ariund. We were stressed because we had to pack everything, my siblings were a bit mad that they had to hear the birds in the morning (and probably stressed them further behind my back) and the dogs knew we were packing and were worried. When we came back, they were really at each other's throats. I delayed cleaning the cage for a day, but then cleaned it and put it back in its normal spot. Since then, it has gone back to Addy' s picking. I have some money that will be going towards some aquarium plants though because they would enjoy that, and Addy, I know, would divert her attention to trying the new green things. (She is like a parakeet, always must chew each new piece of cage furniture.

It's a possibility that the change of location trigered something in them. More light, more heat, maybe longer daylight exposure.

I would still recommend offering them something to keep busy with, otherwise they will become bored and start plucking, either each other or themselves.

Pick up a tupperware container at the $ store and put in some goodies (as mentioned above).

It's really easy to put together.... along with the items already mentioned, you can add some bits of egg shell, some little crumpled paper balls, pieces of cuttle bone, etc.

Change things around every week or so, to keep things interesting.

Try some oat sprays. My Javas love it. You can get it sometimes at Petsmart or Drs. FosterSmith.com. 800-443-1160.

lovezebs are most grass seed heads Safe? I do not know what kinds are. I was thinking about trying timothy, as we have an over abundance of it here.
