Just offer it a container with about half an inch of tepid water, it will do the rest.

There is no method to giving a bird a bath. Just place a shallow dish big enough for it to fit in with NOT more than 1/2 inch to 1 inch of water in it. The bird will take a bath by itself if it wants to. You cannot force a bird to take a bath.
