Tish I am pretty sure that your birds died from another cause. I have see lots of birds with horribly skew beaks, so shew that you can't even imagine how they manage to eat, but they manage to eat and stay healthy. The only real reason to trim these bird's mandibles would be to allow them to feed chicks properly.
