female zebra pumping her rump

I saw her pulling at the edge of the newspaper, then later I saw her napping on the floor of the cage. Is she looking for a nest to lay eggs in?
She isn't fluffed up or sick looking, and when I move around she seems alert.
Her movements (flying/hopping) and eating look normal.

Often when they are pulling at the edges of the newspaper, they are trying to tear strips off to make nests.

hmmm wish i could help...i saw my brothers bird do somthing like that but it was while he was pooing and i just thought he was constapated

No change.
She still does it once in a while.

Although I may be taking her back to the store, to get a smaller stature female gray, as she is larger than the male.

have you tried just calling a avian vet for advise!
