Today is day 5 of treatment. The hen, this morning, showed no signs of open mouth breathing. The clicking has been gone since yesterday.

I assume the treatment is working. I will continue the regiment for the full 10 days instead of 7. Thanks for everyones help.. I think she is going to be fine. :D

A quick update. Sunday (yesterday) was the end of the 10 days of Amoxitex treatment. She seems about 95% better. I am starting probiotics today and putting it on her egg food. She has to eat it... she has 4 hungry chicks pestering her.

This is the last update on this topic. I wanted to post my final treatment regiment for everyone to know in case they come across this problem. The results, my hen is tip top shape again and has successfully weened her 4 little knucklehead chicks.

I went with Amoxitex for 10 days, didnt miss a day. I made up stock solution and used it for 5 days then made up a new stock solution. I think both times I went with 1/2 or 1 qt.

I went directly into a 5 days probiotics treatment on their eggfood. I know everyone got some since she was still weening the little ones. I put it on 2 days, forgot the 3rd, and then put it on for day 4 and 5. I figured it was sufficient and stopped.

The zebra crew is in great shape and making a rucus again!!! :)
