I just checked the floor of the cage, and yes it is full of feathers. So I guess my first birdie molt.

At least she won't be going through it on her own....I just noticed in my pics that you can see the red coming through on the cheeks of my fledglings =D>

As promised, here are photos of Romeo from tonight, looking as sad as ever..
Hopefully if you view the full size image you can see the pins that are covering him!

I just wanted to thank everyone once again for all the help, encouragement and advice. Sweetpea seems to be doing much better now. :D I upped the amount of Nekton-Bio that I was putting on their food and feathers seem to finally be filing in.

She is definitely molting :) You can already see her breast has filled in, and you can see the two lines of new feathers coming in down her belly!

She does look better! Molting is such a fun process to watch isn't it? I was tripping out on my babies first molt a little bit ago. The youngest had it the worst, and s/he looked terrible. I have seen WAY worse in a pet store once though. We were checking out some Goulds for funsies, and one female was totally bald from the neck up! She looked like a Condor or Vulture. She was going through an iodine problem though. This may sound stupid, but do you think the severity of her molt was a result of Swee's loss? Perhaps part of her mourning process? I am glad she is getting back to her old self, and you don't have to worry anymore!

Thanks for the comments. :D No this has nothing to do with the loss of swee, she had been going through this for a while now, I was treating with iodine once every 3 days, but I guess a molt is a molt is a molt. I had actually thought that somehow I was managing to do something wrong by them, but finally ended up that it was her time to change feathers. :D
