still nowhere as chirpy as before and still sleeps a lot but there are excellent signs of improvement. i woke up this morning to find him in my bed 'under the covers' lol i wondered what the hell it was
was also nice to see him ruffle his feathers too as he used to do it all the time but stopped after his accident. i think he is going to make it =D>
that's great!!!

I'm so glad he's recovering as it sounds like you got you one sweet lil buddy there that loves youto pieces as well!!! And yeah sleeping will be normal during a healing cycle for anything as it is said that the healing process takes place better while sleeping and that's why everything including us sleep more during a illness or after surgery or trauma..

firstly i'd like to say he is definatly now 100% the bird he was before the accident :) he has made a full recovery.
i took him to the vet in my hand as he refuses to enter a cage and he was good all the time he was there. the vet checked him over and told me he apears to have made a full recovery. he was very stunned to see how tame the bird was and said ive never seen a finch respond to words in all my years as a vet.after checking him over the vet told me that it looks like ive done all the hard work and is not going to charge me anything for looking at him :) at one point there was 3 vets who came in to see him lol they all said they have never seen a finch with such a strong bond with a human and very happy that they had a chance to see him.
while in the waiting room a young couple offered to buy him but i was very happy to decline their offer  everywhere he goes people make a big fuss over him lol wish they would do that for me

anyway they asked me to take him back in a couple of weeks so they can see how hi is doing. i know ive said it already but i would like to say it once again... thanks to everyone for all your help and advice also for all your well wishes it made a big difference to me and my little birdy in our hour of need :)

i named him the day he hatched  he is called Beebies.
if i am in the kitchen and i say his name he will come strait out and i dont even have to shout it, does it everytime lol
at night he now sleeps around my neck and if i put him into his nesting box or his brooder he gets restless and makes a constand clucking noise while hoping about, he will eventually sneak over to me and his head will pop up around my neck while making that purring noise. he is a crafty shafty  i must get him used to a cage soon now that i have two spare ones as i dont want to squash him at night without knowing.
