Hi.
Your last post didn't go 'ding', so I didn't see it.
How is Bebop?
Don't give up on her yet Sweetie. If she's still with us, there is hope yet.
Let me know how things are going, please.

Shes still alive, but too weak to perch. I have a very shallow bowl of pedialyte in front of her and the heat lamp radiating at about 80 degrees on the cage bottom where shes at. She sleeps heat forward (never a good sign).
Mashed egg (no shells) mixed with powdered baby bird formula, untouched. She was eating seeds but she has lost interest.
If I had to a do over on this one, I would have tried the Probiotics before the anti-biotics. If she miraculously holds out, I have some on the way tomorrow or in case I run into this again.
I did manage to mix up some baby formula and put it around her beak and she did lap at it. Tried and hour later and she ignored it. If I handle her in anyway, she gets more stressed and weakens.
Its just a matter of time honey. Shes warm and comfortable sitting on top of a towel in the cage bottom.

Bill just brought her body in the room. He bought her and he's sad
I checked her body over. No injury, no scaley skin, no signs of parasites....just the signs that she had grown in some new feathers here and there on her breast....a few new feathers on her tail and side of her face. We did pick up small feathers from underneath the cage.
Yeah, I know honey. I gave her what I had, but alas, gouldians are new to me so..... I'll do some research on a few websites I found last night and find out what I could/should have done differently.

Oh Hon....
I'm feeling so bad for you and Bill, and poor little Bebop, so so young.
I don't know if there was anything more that you could have done....
Sometimes you do all the right things, and still it doesn't help. Sometimes, it's just beyond us to know what went wrong. Maybe she was weak and sickening with something before you even got her. Who can say?
Please don't blame yourself, thinking that this happened because you are new to Gouldians. As a whole, they are pretty tough little individuals. Even people who have been breeding birds for many many years, will occasionally lose a bird to unknown reasons. It's tough, but what can we do..... life sucks sometimes.
I'm so so sorry.
I can't even remember, was she sort of off from the start?

Sending you a picture of Scout and Spirit, in their patch work outfits, to cheer you up a wee bit. He's trying to sing now... and she's all abou preening and looking pretty. ..

Scout, is most definitely a little man. He listens very intently when the big boys sing, and practices diligently every day.
Today he was watching Merlin, pull a Cackle Jax on Sharra, when Tiny was singing to her (that naughty naughty Merlin, jumping someone else's girl). Anyway, little Scout, was sitting there like this...

Okay Merlin is a certifiable creeper, but he needs a new lurker tag. Merlin the ......Mastercreeper.
No worries hun, Scout probably whispered a tale or two about her past lives and he got ideas. Spirit is the one who is like
