The only thing off on that is Brat, she is WB, Ricco is PB. So it should be about 50-50 for PB or WB.

But yes.....see those wonderful numbers on the head colors you gave me.

Thats WHAT I was excited about. If I remember correctly you have a stunning YH male (I'm still in love with him *swoon*)

If Brat has a BH and yellow tipped beak then she is gentically a YH and just can't express it.
So a BH YTB.WB.GB hen and RH.PB.Bb male will give you ...

All males will be RH/BH/YH.PB/WB.Green/Blue
All females will be RH/YH.PB/WB.Green/Blue

*hens can't be split to BH
*only way to get WB is if Ricco is split to WB

Hey girl,

Your Bratwurst, looks a lot like my Baby White Breast, only BB's beak is pink tipped (now tipped black).

Regarding my Yellow (Orange) headed boys, I have three of them. Jaxom, Piemur, and Sebell (not sure which one you're in love with.... Should I have a talk with Bill, about dying his head a bright BRIGHT ORANGE ???

Bratwurst :)) She's gonna be a bratwurst if she abandons these eggs again.

She just laid one this morning. Of course I can't verify for sure because she started her "EH-EH EH-EH" the moment I put her swiss chard in the cage and flew immediately to the nest entrance and belted out tons of bird cuss words X( ...A real class act, this girl is.

Regarding classy, this gal doesnt need a nest to do her thing. Brat and Ricco just breed wherever/whenever they feel the urge. Cage shelf, the cage floor.

2/3 of their cage is now shrouded in black cloth and I STILL cant get near the nest to look. She spots me going into her "blind" spot on that side of the cage and goes right to the nest entrance. :-W

I cant remember the YH boy I was enchanted with. Send me their 3 pics again :YMDAYDREAM:

Bill already kinda has that viking look. Red would suit him. Hmmm, think he'd be insulted if I handed him some red hair dye? :))

'Morning Babs....

You'll have work ahead of you, getting her to calm down around your hand (s) in the flight cage.

Here are your three choices of handsomeness....

Bright Orange, lol !
Have to make sure, that you colour his back green though, otherwise, it just won't look right.

Im just gonna buy Bill a male Gouldian costume and to make it easier.

Hmm, now to find a whacky seamstress. I'll serve her a 3 martini lunch before I tell her the plan. :-J

Maybe you should buy Bubba the Gouldian outfit, to hover over the incubator. ..... that way, when the babies hatch they will see Gouldian colours at least, righ?

Speaking of which, how are the egg babies doing???

2 eggs are growing strong. Two eggs got broken when the lid on the contraption fell into the unit the next day while doing a check (1 I broke and 1 Bill broke). I was not a happy camper. #-o

Very nervous if they hatch. 2 of my societies were 2-3 days old when I handraised them, but I've never raise a newborn.

I'm trying to not put any emotion into this egg raising endeavor, as its all too fragile to even get my hopes up.

I will however get Bubba outfitted just in case just for the heck of it. ;)

Do you have a little crop tube thingie for newborns feedings? Not sure where you'd get one, but I'm pretty sure you can order them somewhere or another.
When I was feeding tiny tots, I was using a tooth pick...... then a little plastic tip off of something. Sadly my babies didn't survive, but that's a long sad story (which we won't go into).

I have every confidence in your ability to feed these babies and raise them Babs =D> .

When are they due?

A leg banding tool works very well too, sort of like a spoon.

That means the world to me that you have so much confidence in me.
<3

They are due to hatch on the 13th. But its hit or miss on when the eggs actually incubated in my makeshift brooder.

So it gets tricky as to when to tell the incubator to stop turning. Im going by the first day we put them in the brooder.

I have an anxiety attack just thinking about 1 day old babies. :-SS Don't beat yourself up over it honey, they look about as fragile as paper those first days.

Good news, Bratwurst laid an egg. She and Ricco are guarding the nest site and alternating (not sitting, but guarding). Ricco used to hide behind a faux leaf at night. I took out his hiding place. Now he wont leave the nest unattended if shes not there. So it may seem it was Ricco not making her secure enough to stay in the nest.

Bill and I had to got outside in the dark to and peak through a slit in the curtains to see they both are being vigilant (sitting just outside the nest huddled together). This whole thing could be a blessing in disguise,

Taking the eggs after she didnt sit might have taught my "Brat" a lesson. [-o<
