Molting question
Hello: I have been reading all I could find about molting. When I got my first Gouldies last year they had a few pin feathers on their heads. So this year I am on my own with this new experience - I read about the compressed molt etc. but just as a normal guideline, how long should a molt last. My guys have been dropping feathers for weeks, but I am not seeing any come back in as replacements. I give them egg food and kale but they are picky (like my kids were!). The birds are acting fine, singing and flying and eating, but they sure don't look wonderful. Thanks for your thoughts on this.

It takes quite a while but if you are seeing bare patches there is a chance they might have lice or feather mites.
