Hi from Massachusetts. The first thing I would do is take off the bird protector disc, I have heard that they are dangerous for the birds. You can purchase some scatt if you think that she has mites and you can treat her with that. Hope all goes well with the little one !!

Yep, if you are afraid of scaly face or ASM, you have to use a internal mite killer, like SCATT, as already mentioned, once this mites are found inside the bird's body.
