Re: PRESENT YOUR BIRDS APLENTY MEDICAL MEDICINES

I have been trying not to chime in here, but here goes nothing. I do beleive that what he is referring to here, correct me if I am wrong, in that sometimes we read new posts asking immediately should I give this or that, when it has not even been determined yet as to what is wrong. This has already been mentioned before, I am not sure whom, but by giving the wrong medications we can sometimes cause more harm.

Ex: When Daniel was first diagnosed with autism, the first thing that was prescribed was Ritalin. We didn't know it then, and felt that the professionals would know best, but ve3ry rarely is an autistic child hyperactive. He turned into a couch potato. The real issue with autistic children is anxiety. He now takes something for anxiety, and is now doing much better, has started taking guitar lessons and his teacher tells us that he is a natural, picks up a song in 1 hour =D>

So I do beleive that he is just trying to let us know that we have to watch what we give them and for what reasons, hopefully not misdiagnosing.

Try to keep it civil, everybody, there is no need to argue, it was a good discussion. All these points of view have some validity, what each person has to do is try to discover what works for them and ignore what doesn't. Let's face it, by keeping birds at all, we are taking them out of their natural environment and keeping them in an artificial environment.

guess I'm one of the lucky ones, I get to keep my birds in an enviroment that is as close to their natural enviroment as possible.
it all comes down to each of us doing the best we possibly can for our birds.
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

When their not near us, we're blue.
Oh finches we love you.
