Yep those Argentines are great hog-dogs. Even bigger than the pitbulls.

Yeah, Im glad we veered off a bit. We got to see some of Debbie's groovey hiking pictures :) The rattlesnake in the tree was a beauty!

And I now want a chameleon (Thanks Elana :-P ) Bill already said Quote " Oh hail no! :-L Then he pointed to the bird room. hee hee.
So that is not gonna happen.

I introduced the egg food yesterday, they wanted nothing of it. I've got one going to the seed bowl, the rest are like " We will just sit here until she comes back :-W ". Those 3 are 2-3 days behind the oldest one, which is probably the issue.

I'm going to clean out their cage in a few hours, and I have a plan. This used to work with bluejays and robins when getting them off the "bottle" and onto foraging insects.

Im going to place a little dish of finely chopped egg sprinkled with millet on the cage floor and pick up a little piece by tweezers, and place it in their mouths, over and over (slowly)......until they realize they can get it quicker if they just go straight to the bowl themselves.

These guys are very impatient feeders and that might just do the trick.

I want to put them in with Brat, but to be honest. Her attitude is bad, so much so that sometimes Ricco sits during the day in the plastic folliage to get away from her yammering "eh ehh ehh %-( " at him. She pretty much just wants to mate & rant.

Oh, and regarding the eggs and baby feeding.... Are they old enough for solids? Have to really watch that they don't choke.

Oh that green anole is a cutie. But those are farther south in the Carolina states. I've catch them while camping south and they are super fast and small (they can get away from you quick). They do change color, but its more just green to brown....depending on what they are laying on (a leaf or bark). Not much more of a color morph than that.

As, you know my parents died when I was young and being adopted I really don't have family. I haven't seen my brother in 20 years, he's never been right since the folks died and spends most of his life in trouble. All the good ole boys got family obligations and my best friend of 25 years moved 2 states away :( Lawd I miss her something aweful.

So, some of my son's friends are cookin', and Im headed off to their house in about 5 hours with a bottle of wine.

I'm excited, cause it's the first Thanksgiving in years where it wasn't just me and my son alone.

Bill's off to his parents. Bill's gonna try and meet up with me later. But his parents usually don't let him leave early. So I doubt thats gonna happen.

Ohhhh, for pete's sake I almost forgot about the kiddies! about a half hour ago I successfully got them to get into some boiled eggs!

I had to feed outside the cage or they will fly out onto my head, so I got tiny bits on egg onto some tweezers and started feeding them through the cage bars. They loved it......then the magic happened.

I dropped the tiny pieces of egg on the floor on the cage with the tweezers, next thing I knew, they were fighting each other to pick them up!! Yay!! \M/

I hold the little flat plate where the boiled egg is on in front on them while I pick up the pieces so they can see what I am doing, and hopefully a few more rounds of this and they will just go straight for the plate.

Sounds like your plan is working, thumbs up.

Regarding families and Holidays.....
We used to have nice get togethers once upon a time, sigh...

This year is very difficult....
Thanksgiving, was very quiet, just my son, his wife and me.

I don't even want to think about Christmas. With Jeffrey gone, (May 17th of this year), my Dad, in Long term care, with dementia (Mom, passed away in 1996), and my only brother, living up in the mountains, and not even talking to me........ what can I say ? Sigh...

Oh sweety :( Yep I completely understand. Im gonna send you a HUG so big your eyeballs pop out and your birds will sound like a frightened flock of pigeons! :YMHUG: (excuse the feathers, Bubba can scoop those up for ya).

Well your brother is missing out. He's got a great sister. <3

As a matter of fact if your son is still there, hug him like a bear and tell him its from a crazy lady down south in the states.

But I have to say, I don't know how I would even handle a big family holiday gathering. Haven't known it since I was a kid. I think I'd probably have a dang anxiety attack.

I'm even a little nervous attending this little dinner tonight. Don't know the people that well.

But you'll get a kick out of this, the ridiculousness of it will make you smile......

I was changing the paper towels in the bottom of the cage this morning with the crazy juvies. They are insane and plastering themselves on the cage wall trying to get out so they can land on my face.

I've got one arm shoved in a little feed bowl window and gently, very gently rolling up the paper towels in one ball.

I realize I only see 3 juvies. One is missing. OMG Nooo!! Not again!! Im frantically looking around with my whole arm up to my bicep in the cage trying to see where the little guy went.

I let go of the loose ball of paper towels, it unwravels and theres the little kiddie looking at me in the middle of the poopy papers like "Really? :-W What did I do to deserve this?"

That's a hoot :-D .
Lucky you didn't toss him out with the poopy papers.. Now I've heared about 'don't toss the baby out with the bath water', but don't toss the baby out with the poop (?)

Regarding Thanksgiving, etc.

How come you and Billy Bob, don't do your own DINNER, and invite his family and your sonny boy and friends over ? That would be different, wouldn't it? :-)
You would not have an anxiety attack, there would be no time for that, what with all the shopping, and the cooking and the eating and the cleaning #-o

I'm on the schedule mandatory tomorrow. In the US a "holiday" is something you watch the rich do on TV (another reason on my long list of why I threw out that box).

Okay its 12:21, Im going to try and get some sleep finally.

Goodnight sweety and happy memories only allowed I-) I-)
