They do look like they are keeping a watchful eye on the young 'un.

Donna, Do you ever see your gouldians preen each other? Or the chicks? Curiousity has the better of me now :D

Donna - you are welcome  I think the baby will be good to go by this weekend. Remember the closer they get to being weaned the more they look pitiful... they don't eat from you but whine to you for food and since they are new to eating they have to eat all the time to keep up with they need to consume... so I have found the last week to be the most trying for them but they always prevail!

Well "Leila" (named after the fighter) is doing wonderful! She is eating almost completely on her own and drinking water. I did feed her three times today because she still cries for me when I come into the room.

So sweet she is. She is a keeper!

I will get her picture tomorrow...she is asleep for the night.

Just a final little update on Leila. She is so sweet and tame and wants me to take her out of the cage everytime I enter the computer room.

I can't wait until she colors up. I am anxious for her to go into the aviary, but I am sure when she does she won't be so tame anymore.

So cute...Donna she may stay tame, every once in a while I would get a hand fed lovebird that when released with the others in a flight would always come to greet me and sit on my shoulder as affectionate as can be.

Maybe she will be one of the rare sweet birds, the kind that will always remember the kindness you have shown her. :)
