Re: Leg band emergency!
hi
as i have said before i have had a few birds that have lost feet, and the good thing about it is they seem to get around better than some of the 2 limbed varieties and they still manage to breed ....i know you will feel sorry for him at the moment,as i have done but pretty soon you will look at him like all the others and only realise he has one leg when you ponder about it .....he seems fine to me and his colours are so deep and markings are perfect if he does breed you will have some fine looking birds there!

Re: Leg band emergency!
Thank you for all the encouragement! He is getting stronger everyday and I believe he is finally out of the woods. He doesn't wobble for balance anymore and he's learned to use his stump to move around the cage.
I feel as though he's healthy enough to put back in with his mate. Should I wait a little longer? He is eating well, getting around great and is bright and active. His girl keeps calling for him and I feel as though he's strong enough to let loose again.
Thoughts?

Re: Leg band emergency!
It's only been a couple of days. I would give him a good week on his own to become fully competent and confident. Try not to rush a good thing. Very glad to hear he has come this far.
