Quarantine time outs?? How Long?

Post by Malzmom » Sat Jul 28, 2007 5:25 pm

I quarantined one of my finches due to a reoccuring foot problem. If you look at my posts you can get the gist.

Anyway he has been away from my other one for a week and I have been treating him with Iverlux and with antibiotic oitment on his feet and legs. He is looking great since yesterday, no more red areas around his nail beds and the feet pads look good.

Now my question, how long should I keep him quarantined once he is healed and looks good, how much longer should I keep him alone or can I put him back in the big cage?

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem with my gouldian hen... she has been out of the flight cage for like 2 weeks and I really want her to go back in, but I don't want any of my other birds to catch whatever the heck she has.

If the foot problem has healed then I see no reason you can't return him to the cage.
