Ok so I'm a real newbie when it comes to breeding and baby birds so if I seem clueless it's because I am. So down to my question.
A few minutes ago one of my baby birds jumps from the nest. I pick him up (I'm don't actually know the sex) petted him, basked in his cuteness and put him back in the nest. I noticed though that there seemed to be some kind of fluid filled sack on the side of his neck is this normal?

That's the 'crop'. The crop is a storage area for food the parents are feeding the baby. A full crop means the parents are taking very good care of their babies and are feeding them plenty of food. He is adorable! Just put him back in the nest when you're done admiring him

He's perfectly healthy and well fed! yay!

Please help ! My zebras had a clutch of five eggs. They all hatched about two weeks ago. Twice I found a baby chick fell out of the nest.
The first time was on 11/10/2011. It had no fuzz just a pink tiny chick. I placed it back in the nest. Then about four days ago I found another on the bottom of the cage with fuzz or the start of feathers, and placed it back in the nest. I have been monitoring since the 11/10/2011, but make sure not to disturb them. This evening my wife said that the chick which was at the front of the nest was dead. Upon investigating I realized that it was truly dead and removed it from the nest. The parents are still attending to the nest, and my vision is very poor, but my wife said that the other chicks seem much larger then the dead one that I removed. Please anyone ! Can you give me some sound advice ? It's my first experience and I am so sad !
What should I do ?
