Hi there are you talking about babies first molt into adult colours?
That can take anything from 4-8 months really although most will around 6 months. Longer than most birds but worth the wait for them beautiful colours!

I am asking about adult birds. I usually track these things, but wanted to hear anyone's average molt for their adult birds?

I have noticed it all depends on the birds.
My best breeding pair only take a couple of months, while some others seem to take forever. #-o

I think a healthy bird will finish it's molt in 2-3 months. For minor molts, I've seen them finish in as short as an month. :)

So, if they started molting a month ago I can use this timing to breed at the right time for my Goulds - definitly not during our hottest season which is now. I'll figure a good two months then to finish molting. Thank you guys
