HELP! My GS hatchling won't eat (five days old)

I was not sure where to post this for the quickest response, but the GS hatchling I posted about in Breeding has quit begging to eat at five days old. He seems lethargic, when just yesterday he would chirp for food.

Any suggestions to save the little one? Please.

Is anyone able to make a suggestion. I fear the baby may have aspirated on the last feeding. Is there anything I can do? Is the chick doomed?

Just replied to PM... keep him warm. With the clicking sound it is very possible he has liquid in his lungs. Hopefully it will clear. Sometimes particles in the lungs will lead to a bacteria infection of the lungs with dire results. I send healing prayers.

Update: The little one passed last night. We think he aspirated. God bless the wee one.

I saw you pm to me this morning...I was off and on the computer and the email to notify me you sent one did not rrive until this morning....so sorry for your loss.

It might not have been anything to do with the handfeeding but perhaps the parents sensed he was was weak or in the time they stopped sitting and feeding and you took over his little body got weak and he became ill, you kept him going for a bit.

So sorry again, hopefully the parents will do better next time.
