Hi, have had male zebra in breeder alone for about two months up until three days ago, bought hen but when i put her in the two of them started to fight? Now when i peep in at them the male is on the floor mostly and the hen will chase him off any of the three perches he lands on although this is not always the case I have seen them together on a perch several times, Have not got a chance to see whether they both use the breeder box attached to sleep in yet. Just wondering is this behavior normal or? Thanks.

Some finches just don't like each other. Also the hen for example could be a little young to breed, while the male wants to and thus the conflict.
I had a case like this few months back, but seperated the pair for a few weeks and put them back together and then they were totally in love :)

If you have a breeder cage, slide in the divider, and keep them separated for a week or two. This way they can see each other, but one cannot chase the other. I found that "sometimes" when they are separated but can see each other, the initial agressivness of one to the other calms down. After a while they realize that they only have each other, then they buddy up. But, sometimes one will just not like the other, no mater what you do, and you just have to keep them separated.
