Lucy is alone but happy

I had posted about the passing of my shaft tailed finch Charlie a couple of weeks ago. He was found in the morning dead in his nest beside Lucy for no apparent reason and I'm still left with the question of why.
Anyhow, Lucy has been on her own since and doing fine, so I think there's been ample quarantine time. The odd thing is.... Lucy is doing great!? I've never seen her so happy and so full of song and spunk?? I'm just wondering if that's strange that her lifelong partner dies, and she is doing so well?
The only thing that I can think of is when Charlie was around she was constantly popping out eggs and then egg sitting on them for weeks at a time. Now she has for time to play and fun?
Its also got me wondering if because she seems so happy that maybe I shouldn't get her another mate after all? Any thoughts on this?
She does spend a lot of time at the window on her perch talking to the birds outside. Once our Canadian winter hits, and the window has to stay closed, she won't have the luxury of other birds talking to her and maybe then her loneliness would set in.
I appreciate any thoughts on this...thanks!
