Bald spot on booty?

My little zebra boys Aristotle and Socrates seem extremely healthy and active. I've had them for almost 3 years. I've never had any major problems. I don't think I have a problem now, but I figured I'd be cautious and post about it anyway.

Today I noticed a little bit of a bald patch right behind one of Socrates's legs on the underside. It's not a big spot, just enough to notice. I got as best a look at it as I could, but he was jumping around a lot (you know zebras).

I recall them fighting a bit yesterday, so I'm assuming they might have just gotten plucked out during a scrap. I was a little behind on replenishing their nesting material this time, and as I recall when I cleaned out the nest there were quite a few feathers (but I also think they are molting because I have feathers all over my room right now  ). Sometimes when I'm behind in replenishing the nest stuff, one of the birds will "borrow" some feathers from the other and put them in the nest.

Now they have plenty of nest stuff and they also have their cuttlebone and oyster shells (calcium to help them grow feathers). Am I right to assume that as long as Socrates continues to be active (which he is, very active!) then the feathers should just grow back and all will be well? I'll keep an eye on the area just in case. I saw nothing else odd on him or Aristotle. Is there anything I should watch out for just in case? I'd much rather be over cautious than have anything sneak up on me!

The butt area is one of several areas that I have seen my zebras plucked.
The areas that I have seen plucked are:
- back and top of the head
- back of the neck
- back
- flank (below the wing)
- rump (anywhere on the body behind the leg)

hmmm that's about half the body

Yeah, I've kept an eye on the little guy and nothing else seems amiss. I'm convinced it was plucking. Thankfully, I haven't seen anymore of that naughty behavior.

I'm getting rather fed up w my zebras plucking each other.
My female zebras are now 1 per cage, to regrow the plucked feathers and to keep the pluckees separated from the pluckors.

Zebras can be such little bullies sometimes. I hope your plucking situation gets resolved.
